A Year in the Life
Episode Three: “Summer”
Original Airdate: November 25, 2016
Rory tries to save the Stars Hollow Gazette from shutting down. Lorelai sits on the advisory committee for Taylor’s musical. Rory worries about Emily.
Oh super. This is the episode with the Stars Hollow, the Musical. A total waste of 20 minutes of this episode that made absolutely no sense!! Like seriously. Were the writers high? That’s the only thing I can think of when I wonder what in the H E double hockey sticks they were thinking writing that musical into this episode.
Rory needs better negotiating skills. I’m sure they weren’t paying Mr. Roundbottom nothing so why would Rory tell Taylor she doesn’t want any salary? At least ask for something.
It’s good to see April again. I know I never liked her in the TV show. Well, she did grow on me toward the end, but I just liked seeing her in this because it brings more depth to it. Not to mention, she does a great job in this scene.
I think the best part of this whole revival is Emily’s evolution into an independent woman. She’s changing into someone that I kind of want to write a book about.
Another great thing about this is Jess! I know I wasn’t a fan during the TV show, but by the end he got better.
I’m a bit surprised at Lorelai’s reaction to Rory writing a book. Were you?
And can I just say I would love to read Rory’s book about her and her mom?
What did you think of this episode?
