Episode Forty-Five: “Haunted Leg”
Original Airdate: October 1, 2002
A night at the fights. Rory has it out with Jess, and Lorelai goes a rhetorical round or two with Christopher. But Lorelai has another chance at swept-off-her-feet romance: Kirk asks her out on a date.
I’ve always liked this episode. Or at least I like a scene in it. Yes, it’s hard to watch Christopher and Lorelai fight, but all I can say for this fight is GO EMILY!!!! Man that woman can have some good timing when she wants, especially when it comes to protecting her daughter and granddaughter. She may fight with Lorelai from time to time, but she will defend her daughter when she needs to.
So what did you think of this episode?
Emily: Why are you throwing cutlery in a public place?
Lorelai: Uh, ’cause I feel stupid doing it at home?
Lorelai: But this goes against every rule I have in the Gilmore Survival Guide. Number one: No running with scissors. Number two: No page-boy haircuts. Number three: Never, ever have lunch alone with the mother.
Lorelai: We can’t have a mouse running around the inn. Our guests will freak.
Michel: Tell them it’s a baby. People love babies. They’ll talk to it in funny voices.
