Season Two
Episode Twenty-Four: “Red Light on the Wedding Night”
Original Airdate: October 16, 2001
Red means stop. A new traffic light in front of the diner has Luke seeing red. At her bachelorette bash, a different kind of signal has Lorelai seeing clearly . . . maybe.
Okay, so I love Max and I love the thought of him and Lorelai getting married. However, her getting married so early in the TV show series would have thrown the whole show off. A married Lorelai wouldn’t have worked.
I kind of have a soft spot for this episode. I love the scene where Max is cooking dinner at the house and the girls are shocked by the broiler. Then the bachelorette scene with the whole gang, including Emily who talks about the night before her wedding and how she tried on her dress after her mother went to sleep.
And I can’t forget about my favorite of all favorite scenes where Max, Lorelai, Rory, and Dean go on a date and Dean has a man to man talk with Max about how Lorelai and Rory are. It’s no surprise that Dean knows them so well, but to hear it out loud, I just love the conversation for some reason. I also love to see how right he is!
I have to admit, I laughed so hard when Lorelai came across a naked picture of Kirk!

So what are your thoughts on this episode?
Funny Quotes:
(about Max knowing his way around the kitchen)
Rory: He has much knowledge.
Lorelai: We shall form a cult around him.
Rory: Build a statue many stories high.
Lorelai: We shall grow our hair long and stop bathing.
(Max opens a drawer in the oven)
Lorelai: Wow, did you know we had that?
Rory: Not a clue.
Rory: Okay, our house is burning down, and you can save the cake or me. What do you choose?
Lorelai: Well that’s not fair. The cake doesn’t have legs.
