Happy August everyone!
Welcome to the last month of the summer! For most of us, we only have weeks left before school starts and the kids go off to learn for another year.
Of course, mine will learn, but as for the going off . . . they will head to the living room. Although we’ve decided not to keep them in the charter school they attended last year, we will be homeschooling for at least one more year.
With my oldest nearing her teens (and let’s face it, that time when friends become more important than parents), it’s always a gamble at the end of the summer if she’ll want to go back or stay home with me.
I’m looking forward to this year of getting back to doing my own thing when it comes to their curriculum. Last year we were forced to do a few mandatory programs that both of the girls didn’t like. I didn’t care for them either and it made for a rather frustrating day. You can imagine the strain that was and how much it made me hate the thought of going through it again. Fingers crossed that I’ve found a good system for both (not that I can’t change it if it doesn’t work) and we actually have a smooth year.
HA! Smooth year. That’s a dream.
So what if it’s a dream, let me dream!!
Anyway, back to my August update. In the writing front, I’m happy to announce that I completed Camp NaNoWriMo and not only made my goal, but surpassed it! YAY! What does that mean? Well, one thing it means is that the Titanic book, Lost on the Atlantic, should be finished and ready for the editor by the end of this month!
Yes, that’s right. I could have another finished book ready for publication BEFORE the end of the year. Will it actually publish before 2020? Well, that’s hard to say. But I hope to have a definite answer for you in next months update! I have to say, I love this story, and I can’t wait to share it with you—whenever that is.
Well, that’s about all I have for you today. I will see you guys next week.
