Creamy Parmesan Pasta Sauce #recipe #food #foodie #RecipeOfTheDay #cooking

kuyiuhkhkjhbWhile I usually do this creamy tomato pasta sauce with fettuccini, you can use it with any pasta you would like.

It’s also amazing with penne, rigatoni, angel hair, and even spaghetti. I’ve never tried it with bowtie or macaroni, but I’m sure it would work with them too.

Originally, I got the idea for the sauce from a recipe that I saw on an episode of The Pioneer Woman; however, I modified it.

I can’t tell you whose tastes better (my guess might lean toward hers—she is the professional after all), but with my pickiness to certain ingredients, I like mine better.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Tablespoons of Butter
  • 1 Jar of Your Favorite Spaghetti Sauce (Homemade is even better)
  • 1 Cup of Heavy Whipping Cream (or 1 Cup of Half n Half for less fat and calories)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Onion Powder to taste
  • Garlic Powder to taste
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese to taste
  • Garlic Powder to taste
  • Several pinches of minced fresh Basil or dried Basil to taste

In a skillet (I love to use my cast iron for this recipe), melt the butter and add in the spaghetti sauce. Mix in the cream and bring to a bubble. Let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes and add in the rest of the ingredients in small amounts. Taste as you go, adding in each of them until you reach your preferred taste. I know that’s not much to go on, but trust me, you will know when you reach that level of fantastic.Allow to simmer for another 10-15 minutes or until it’s thicker and then fold in your cooked pasta. Serve and enjoy!
