As writers we go through an array of emotions…and these can be said best by the one and only, Joey Tribbiani…
Since posting this, I have also done A Writer’s Life as told by Chandler Bing, A Writer’s Life as told by Ross Geller, and A Writers Life by Phoebe Buffay. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.
When you get a new story idea…
When your outline is done and you’re ready to start writing the first draft…
When you realize your outline has plot holes you didn’t know about…
When you hit a wall of writer’s block…
When your writer friends make a comment about how frustrating writers block can be…
When you finish writing the ever-difficult sex scene…
When a plot twist that hasn’t been working finally pans out…
When your characters take on a mind of their own and do things you don’t want them to do…
When you finally finish your final draft…
When you send off your manuscript to beta readers and you think it’s perfect…
When you’re trying to figure out if you want to self publish or submit to a publisher or agent…
When you open an email from a publisher offering you a contract…
When you get your first round edits back from your editor…
When your editor wants you to make a major change to your plot that affects the whole novel…
When you get your second round edits back from your editor…
When your editor, publisher, and/or reader says they LOVE your novel…
When you get your first bad review…
When you receive a good review to X out the bad review…
When friends and family ask you how you handle bad reviews…
When you’re excited about sending your novel to a certain reviewer and then they hate your novel…
When people ask you if you are ever going to change genres or write in a different POV and you don’t want to change…
When you overhear someone saying anyone can write a novel because it’s so easy…
When you fill up your friends Facebook feeds with nothing but your book promotional posts…
When you are too old to really understand social media and all the slang lingo…
When you attempt to look cool using social media and all the slang lingo and you fail…
And lastly, when you finally receive your first royalty check…
My favoritist blog post ever! LOL
LOL. Mine, too! I loved finding all the GIF’s and created it. It was so much fun.
LOL! This was GREAT!
Thank you! I had a blast making it. I want to do more, but I have no idea what to do next. LOL
A fun, humorous look at the grueling process.
It is a grueling process, isn’t it. LOL. Good thing we love it.
I LOVE THIS! 😀
Thank you!
I loved your presentation. Very eye-catching.

Thank you! It’s my favorite post ever. LOL
Wonderful …. enjoyed this so much!!
Thank you! And thank you for stopping by!
As someone who used to adore Friends and no longer gets enough of it in his life, as well as a “tortured” writer… I feel this post on so many levels. You have made me very happy today. XD
Thanks for stopping by Kaine! I miss the show so much, but I have all the seasons on DVD. It’s always fun to have a marathon one weekend. By so many requests, I will have “A Writer’s life as told by Ross Gellar” posting around the end of September. 🙂
That should be excellent… Though, have to admit, I think I’d be curious to see what Phoebe would have to “say” on the subject… XD
